in the name of rakyat...

i dont generally read the papers nor do i watch the news..

1st reason is because it is too depressing for me when i read or hear bout more people being killed, crime rates going up n up, more stupid write ups esp from metro..

i find that some news are so unnecessary to be published and even more publicised and that the media MUST be aware that they are corrupting the minds of the young sometimes with their uncautious statements n photos!!

and also plus with the fact that the mainstream media are so 'controlled', it makes u wonder of the ketelusan of the news they're reporting!!

but my dad, atok and other family members MAKES IT A POINT to watch the news esp at 8pm and have to buy 3-5 newspaper a day..(habit or knowledge,u tell me?), so on that unopportune time some of the lies & deceit will travel through my ear drums and i'd have no choice but to digest the news, darn it...it is to me, a form of torture..

bear with me..i'm swamped with work n am sleepy and not very focused at the moment..

i overheard our 1Malaysia PM gave a statement (i'm paraphrasing here n based on my understanding n am not quoting him directly!!) that ALL his ministers should act, provide for or work towards helping the RAKYAT...

he further said that (again..NOT quoting) UMNO/BN leaders shud not 'help' the rakyat during election time only but throughout..

ok, we got the gist..

BUT erm,mr prime minister sir..shouldnt that be the basis ALL the TIME..

our leaders actually HAVE TO BE REMINDED OF THIS?tsk..tsk..tak..

we have really forgotten the very essence of democracy..tho it seems like a joke but democracy means,

"Government of the people, by the people, for the people"

..simple as that..

its high time the rakyat realises that WE have the POWER...we determine WHO is up there and we SHALL determine WHO SHOULD NOT be up there..

ok, since when does the rakyat only involves those who are only those who are in agreement with whatever the government of the day does or says..

if he say that the leaders should act for the rakyat..does it mean ALL the rakyat's grievances or only selected ones?

how is the rakyat to know where are the proper forums or channels for them to 'tell' their grievances..

there are still rakyat who do not have proper water system, HERE IN 1MALAYSIA, HERE IN KUALA LUMPUR..

there are still rakyat living on candles with no means of electricity..here in malaysia..

there are still rakyat who cant afford to go to school..it is as of right for all children of the world!!

those who march and involved in rallies and demos are RAKYAT voicing out they're feeling so that those in power listen to their heed..they are NOT people who are against the government of the day..they are NOT a threat to the nation..they are NOT hooligans..

Since when are we disected by the political party we chose?

is that a criteria for me to be considered as a rakyat and to be able to get the help i need from my government?

i think everyone has to realised that we are all people/rakyat of this nation n i sincerely believe that NO ONE wants to see this NATION go down to the dumps!
(unless that person is deply motivated for his own well-being and doesnt mind selling his own country n i believe Malaysians are NOT like that)

one question now remains:

visit www.ikdn.gov.my here

and see it for yourself..the people has indeed spoken and 90% of the respondents says that they want ISA to be abolished!

what do YOU have to say bout that?
